The Work

What comes after The Business Read.

The Business Read tells you what is in the way and whether the financial foundation is solid enough to build on. What happens next depends on what it finds.

If the books need work first — unable to see where the money is coming from and going to, financials not completed at month end, unconventional formatting, unreliable data. We fix that before anything else. If the foundation is solid, we move directly to The Build.

Either path leads to the same place: a live dashboard built to your business, numbers actually that are actually actionable and tied to the operations of the business and a monthly read of your numbers by an operator. Every month, you know exactly what happened and exactly what to work on.

ENGAGEMENT 01 OF 03

01 THE FINANCIAL FOUNDATION

Only if the Business Read reveals the books need work first.

A working session built directly on the findings from The Business Read.

The Monthly Read works when the numbers it interprets are clean, connected to operations, and updated on a cadence that reflects how the business actually runs. When they are not — when job costing is guesswork, P&L categories are too broad to mean anything, or the financials have no real connection to what is happening on the floor — the interpretation is only as good as the data underneath it.

This engagement fixes that. A specialist we bring in and manage does the bookkeeping and financial infrastructure work. We define the scope, set the standard, and manage the work to a clear deliverable. When it is complete, the books reflect how the business actually operates — and The Build can begin.

This is a project with a defined end point, not an ongoing retainer. The goal is a clean financial foundation — nothing more and nothing less.

THIS IS RIGHT FOR YOU IF:

•       The Business Read revealed that your financial tracking system is not clean enough to manage from

•       Job costing is missing, inconsistent, or disconnected from actual production costs

•       Your P&L exists but cannot tell you which jobs, customers, or product lines are actually making money

•       You want the books fixed once and correctly before committing to ongoing monthly interpretation

•. You are preparing the business for a transaction and need clean, credible financials

02 THE BUILD

The formal review, the KPIs, and the dashboard - Built once, built right

Before the dashboard is built, the Business Read findings get a formal review. This is the session where the data gets examined closely, the operational KPIs that actually matter to this specific business get identified, and the dashboard specification gets defined. Not a generic template — a dashboard built to show the numbers that are relevant to how this business makes and loses money.

Once the KPIs are defined, the dashboard gets built. When it goes live, it reflects the business accurately — updated continuously, showing the metrics that matter and nothing more, organized the way an operator reads them rather than the way an accountant files them.

When The Build is complete, The Monthly Read begins. The dashboard is running. The foundation is in place. The monthly interpretation session has something real to work from.

This is right for you if:

  • You have completed The Business Read and are ready to move to ongoing monthly interpretation

  • You want a dashboard built to your specific business that actually has meaning and value

  • You need to know which operational metrics to track before you commit to tracking them

  • You want the setup done correctly once so the monthly work is actually useful

  • You have completed The Financial Foundation and the books are now clean enough to interpret

When The Build is complete, The Montly Read begins
